The emotional reception of her memoir surprised author Cleola M. Davis. Her experiences shares the systemic challenges she and
other African Americans experienced while serving in the Army. It is an
American stories, a real-time record of American history. Some people
cry and many laugh, some express anger and some empathy but for sure
the reader will have a reaction to the stories in Forged in Battle.
The Book
Forged in Battle, LLC was established in October 2023
by United States Army Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Cleola M. Davis as
a market management and distribution apparatus for her memoir,
Forged in Battle: African American Officers Serving in the United States Army.
The Company
Community Advancement and Grant Organization
FIBa (Facilitate-Inspire-Build-Advance) is a financial
grant organization funded by sales of the book, Forged in Battle
African American Officers Serving in the United States
Army, by Cleola M. Davis through the marketing and sales vehicle
Forged in Battle, LLC. Was started in October 2023. The first grant, in the amount of $5,000 was given to assist in jump starting a small veteran owned, Black. ​
